Diversity & Inclusion

Creating a safe space doesn't require crocodile-infested moats or the royal guard.

It just takes a bit of not-being-an-asshole.

We wholeheartedly believe that putting inclusivity and diversity at the core of our values should be standard practice.

Inclusivity isn't a trend, it's a necessity, and it's about time businesses started stepping it up.

It goes beyond the performative gestures of just slapping a rainbow sticker on your storefront or using buzzwords in advertising. True inclusivity requires real effort, education, and a genuine desire to create a welcoming and accessible world for everyone - regardless of their background, identity or ability.

SAFE SPACES FOR ALL FACES

This is why our mission is to create safe spaces for both our team and customers, starting with respect, inclusion, honesty, transparency, and clear communication.

A safe space where you can be yourself, ask questions, give critical feedback, or change your mind, without feeling pressured, rushed, belittled, ignored or unconsidered.

We recognise the importance of diversity and inclusion on this mission, and we are constantly working to improve in these areas. Most importantly, when we get it wrong, we acknowledge our mistake, own it, apologise and move forwards having learned to do it better.

Pronouns to Paperwork:
It’s in the details for us

We don't just stop at your name, folks! We prioritise your personal pronouns - they’re important, which is why they’re part of our intro questions. Transitioning? We'll make sure that your invoices show the name you need. We'll also give you a gentle heads-up if your email client is unknowingly dead-naming you (this is way more frequent than you’d think).

Plus, we've levelled up with the help of our lawyers by removing gender from our work contracts so that our non-binary team members are accurately represented. It's the little things that make big changes.

Accessibility

We are also committed to accessibility, and we strive to make our products and services accessible to everyone, regardless of their physical, neurological or language abilities. We haven’t hit the mark yet, but we’re working hard to. We're starting by revamping our website and digital process, with diversity at the forefront of our minds. We want the Driller Queens experience to be easy and accessible for all folks!

Feel there is something we could be doing better? Or begin to do at all?

We would genuinely value your feedback. Start the conversation at hello@drillerqueens.com
